The fully redesigned 2020 Ford Explorer has made a lot of improvements, but it is up against some strong rivals that might prove a better choice.

Model Options

This newly redesigned Explorer is available in a base model, XLT, Limited, ST, and Platinum model.

Interior

The three-row SUV can seat 6-7 passengers and has increased passenger space to make rides more comfortable. The new Explorer has more cargo volume with all seats folded but few cubic feet behind the second and third rows when they are in use.

I don’t know how important dashboard design is to you but this one lacks flair. To make up for that, it is so functional and easy to use.

Drive Time

You can expect to get 27 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The rear-wheel drive platform improves handling and towing. The SUV has composed handling, with easy steering and a comfortable ride. Need to tow? Explorers can tow up to 5600 pounds if it is properly equipped.

Tech and Safety

You can have everything at your fingertips with an available 10.1-inch touchscreen. You can use it to call friends, cue music, or get directions.

Ford Co-Pilot360 comes with: rear view camera, lane-keeping system, auto high-beam headlamps, and more.

Final Thoughts

Having been in one of these before, I absolutely love it. While the large touchscreen might seem too much for some, it looks so good. There is enough pep in the acceleration to get me on the freeway quick enough and pick up speed to switch lanes in time for the exit, all inside a comfortable ride. It should be able to accommodate enough passengers that you will ever have in your car. Check it out.
