What is

Car Detailing?

Just so you know, we’ll handle your info according to our privacy statement.

It’s common for car owners to bring their vehicle to a car wash, but a simple soak and rinse won’t give you the benefits of a full auto detail.

Why Detail Your Car?

Auto detailing isn’t just for fixing up cars that are being put on the market. It increases the lifespan of your vehicle while giving you the amazing feeling of driving a brand-new car no matter how long ago you bought it.

So what goes into the detailing process? The best part is that everything is done completely by hand so not a single spot is missed. The next cool thing about detailing is that it involves cleaning both the exterior and interior of your vehicle.

An Interior You Won’t Even Recognize

There’s actually a lot of work to be done on the inside. First thing’s first, everything needs to be vacuumed. You probably guessed that much, but that’s just the start (and also towards the end). You may have learned from experience that a vacuum hose doesn’t help with those very tight areas. Have you thought of using an air compressor? Professional detailers have thought of everything.

Usually, the first thing that people notice when getting into a vehicle are the seats. Detailers adapt their process to the material of your seats and dashboard depending on whether your car has leather, vinyl, plastic, or carbon or natural fibers. Kind of like how there are specific types of shampoo for different types of hair, there’s a product for every material.

The rest of the interior work involves brushing and steam-cleaning the carpet, making the dashboard and other components spotless, and tending to the glass. After all the bases are covered, the vacuum is used once again to finalize that brand-new look. Deodorant tops everything off because what’s better than stepping into a freshly clean car that also smells nice?

A Hard-to-Look-Away Exterior

Exterior cleaning starts with a high-pressure spray to loosen up dirt, bacteria, bugs, and whatever else might be hiding in your grill. After that, detailers go over everything by hand to make sure that not a single crevasse is overlooked. That includes rims, windows, and door jambs (the part of the door with the locking mechanism and those white and yellow stickers that no one ever reads).

Another reason to consider having your vehicle detailed is if it’s showing marks that you just can’t get out. A clay bar is used to remove those tough spots without causing damage to your paint. It’s like a car version of those “magic erasers” that you use on your kitchen countertops.

Lastly, the body is polished and shined to really hammer in that straight-from-the-factory look.

Auto detailing is a great value when you think about all of the work that goes into the process. You’ll end up with a car that you’ll be excited to hop into, and your car will thank you as it won’t wear out nearly as fast.
